Chase Headley to take "crash course" at first base

Following the Yankees 6-1 loss against the Minnesota Twins, Yankees' manager Joe Girardi announced Todd Frazier would be the everyday third baseman for the duration of the season. So what does that mean for Chase Headley? Headley may be out as the third baseman, but Girardi announced the 33-year-old will take a "crash course" at first base.

Headley hadn't been getting the job done at the hot corner, hitting only four home runs up to this point. It's also worth mentioning he is hitting .208/.232/.302 against left handed pitching. It's almost a given the Yankees will platoon both Headley and Garrett Cooper at first base, with Cooper playing against lefties and Headley playing against righties. But you have to wonder if this move will make Headley expendable at the end of the season.
