Eovaldi throws simulated game Monday
Instead of throwing a bullpen Monday, Nathan Eovaldi pitched in a simulated game and told reporters he expects to be ready for the divisional series should the Yankees make it past the Wildcard game on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium vs. the Astros.

The 25-year-old right hander has been out since September 8th win inflammation in his pitching elbow. Before the injury, the hard throwing Eovladi was 14-3 with a 4.20. His win percentage is at 82, which at the time of his injury was tops in the majors this season. With the news Monday of CC Sabathia entering rehab due to alcohol problems, the Yankees could use Eovaldi if he is ready to go. The Yankees have had issues this season with starting pitchers staying healthy, as every starting pitcher to start the season has missed time at some point in the season. It is unclear whether he will pitch out of the rotation or the bullpen, but Eovaldi said he is ready to pitch out of the bullpen should the Yankees advance to the ALDS.
