Gary Sanchez named to MLB Pipeline Team of the Week
Catching prospect Gary Sanchez has been climbing up the ladder for the Yankees in the farm system, and this week he has been named to the MLB Pipeline Team of the Week. The honor for Sanchez is on the heels of his performance during the week of April 18th through 24th. The Yankees third ranked prospect batted to a .320 average, while blasting a homerun on his way to an impressive performance last week. This season, the power-hitting catcher has a line of .250/.311/.518 with two homeruns and 10 RBI. While struggling out of the gate, he has started to find his swing at the dish as of late. In the minors a year ago, Sanchez burst back onto the scene, hitting to a .278/.335/.512 with an impressive 25 long balls and 83 runs batted in. The 23-year-old prospect has been known for his hitting during his minor league career, and has continued to flash his potential in the Yankees farm system.
