Girardi: bruised nerve for Jacoby Ellsbury
Joe Girardi announced today that a MRI on Jacoby Ellsbury's left elbow has revealed a bruised nerve.
The center fielder sustained the injury in the sixth inning of Monday's loss to the Blue Jays. He chased down a (rare) two-run Ryan Goins sac fly, which led him face-first into the outfield wall. The team will wait a couple days before making a decision. If he isn't available for the Chicago or Cincinnati series, a DL stint is likely.

In 24 games for the Yankees this season, Ellsbury is hitting .282 with three homers, nine RBIs and seven stolen bags.
