Gleyber Torres resumes baseball activities
On June 19, Gleyber Torres was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. The 20-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery, and was ruled out for the remainder of the 2017 season. However, just a few months after having surgery, Torres is making progress towards a return to the field.

On Wednesday, Torres posted a video of himself taking ground balls on social media. Earlier this week, Torres also posted a video of himself taking one-handed swings in the batting cage.
Gleyber Torres put up a video on his Instagram of him taking some one-handed swings in the cage. Brace on his left arm, but a great sign.

Prior to suffering the injury, Torres was quickly climbing through the Yankees farm system. In 55 games between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the 20-year-old posted a slash line of .287/.383/.480. He is currently ranked as the Yankees No. 1 prospect, and ranks as the third-best prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline. This is a big step in the right direction for Torres. As he continues to rehab from this injury, the Yankees are hopeful that he will be ready for the start of the 2018 season.
