Jacoby Ellsbury sidelined with flu-like symptoms
Jacoby Ellsbury will sit for the series opener against the Colorado Rockies tonight after experiencing flu-like symptoms, according to manager Joe Girardi. Aaron Hicks will start in centerfield instead. Ellsbury has been one of the more consistent hitters for the Yankees this season. He's currently slashing .279/.341/.406 with three homers and 24 RBI. He's also added 10 doubles, five triples and 12 stolen bases. Girardi said he was unsure if Ellsbury will be a player for him tomorrow. Flu-like symptoms can sometime's sap you of strength, so hopefully Ellsbury gets some rest and hydrates himself so he won't miss extended time. The Yankees also have an off day on Thursday before welcoming in the Twins over the weekend.
