Jordan Montgomery to undergo Tommy John Surgery
If the New York Yankees weren't in the trade market for a starting pitcher, then they might want to start looking. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery will undergo Tommy John Surgery on Thursday, effectively ending his season.

Montgomery's surgery will take place at New York Presbyterian Hospital and the surgery will be done by Dr. Christopher Ahmad. Montgomery was placed on the disabled list on May 2 with a left flexor strain and was essentially slated to miss two months. Now, he'll miss the rest of the season. Domingo German has been the placeholder in the Yankees rotation during Montgomery's absence, going 0-5 with a 5.44 ERA in 17 games and 41.1 innings. However, German may need to do more until the Yankees can swing a trade for a starting pitcher by the July 31 trade deadline. In six starts this season, Montgomery went 2-0 with a 3.62 ERA in 17.1 innings.
