Yankee first-baseman Luke Voit is getting hot at the right time, as he claims his first career AL Player of the Week award right before playoffs.

The Yankee slugger ranked first among qualified AL players in slugging percentage (.958), as well as total bases (23). Voit was also tied for hits, home runs, RBIs, and extra-base hits (6) over that span. The 27-year-old has provided consistent production at first base for the Yankees since being acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals on July 29.
Voit is the third different Yankee to earn AL Player of the Week this season, joining Didi Gregorius (April 29), and Gleyber Torres (May 27 & Sept. 2).
