Report: A-Rod, YES Network in discussions about possible role
Alex Rodriguez returned to the Yankees today down in Tampa, and to the surprise of nobody, he brought quite a bit of attention with him. After serving as a special instructor today during the Yankees spring training workouts, an immediate Rodriguez-comeback rumor was sparked. Yankees beat reporter for yankees.com, Bryan Hoch, tweeted a quote from manager Joe Girardi stating his belief that after today he wouldn’t be surprised to see A-Rod attempt a comeback to MLB.
Joe Girardi said he could see A-Rod thinking about a comeback this spring. Happened with Andy Pettitte, remember?

Almost immediately following the workouts, Rodriguez addressed the media, squashing any and all rumors about his return to baseball, despite receiving several offers. Much ado about nothing, or so we thought… Moments ago, ESPN senior writer Andrew Marchand reported that there could be an A-Rod return to the Yankees after all, in the booth.

According to Marchand, it appears that A-Rod will be adding to his TV responsibilities. Rodriguez and YES are reportedly in talks about a role for Rodriguez to join the network. A-Rod has already worked on Fox’s playoff coverage, and since YES is mostly owned by Fox , it's easy to see the possibility of Alex joining the fold covering games in some capacity. A-Rod is currently scheduled to serve as a special instructor this week before returning sometime in March. Follow me on Twitter, @JaredSaul
