Beltran, who was a former Yankee and Met, recently retired from Major League Baseball following his World Series win with the Houston Astros. Despite Beltran's lack of managerial experience, he has history of being a successful leader. Beltran is also bilingual, which would be a major asset in a diverse Yankees clubhouse. Hal Steinbrenner said the team will initially interview "less than 10" candidates before flying approximately 2-3 candidates to Tampa for a final interview.
