Rodriguez to Play First Base Sunday
The long awaited debut of Alex Rodriguez playing first base has finally come to fruition. Joe Girardi announced that Rodriguez will play five innings at first Sunday against the Houston Astros.

Rodriguez has had a good spring thus far batting over .300 with 2 home runs. He has played a couple games at third with relatively no trouble. Girardi and Cashman have talked early in spring about the possibility of A-Rod playing first. Now, that talk becomes reality.
This will be Alex's first ever appearance at first base. Though it seems likely that Rodriguez will get most of his at-bats as a DH, having another option behind injury-prone Mark Teixeira is something the Yankees have been looking for for a couple of seasons.
