Trenton Thunder throw combined no hitter
Things in Trenton last night were going better than things in Arlington. The Yankees Double-A affiliate Trenton Thunder threw a combined no hitter in a 4-0 win against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
20 year old Ronald Herrera threw the first eight innings, giving up two walks with 5 strikeouts and a hit batter. 22 year old Jonathan Holder closed things out, K-ing two in the ninth to complete the second no-no in team history. It had been nearly 10 years since Trenton saw a no hitter, and the first one they've seen at home. Tyler Clippard threw one back on August 9, 2006 at Harrisburg. The Thunder move to 11-8 on the season and Herrera improved to 3-0. Their next game is today when they close out the Fisher Cats series.
