Voit's two homers key Yankees victory over O's
BALTIMORE -- With the Yankees ravaged by injuries, it was time for someone to step-up as the team continues to chase the Red Sox for the AL East title. For at least tonight, it was Luke Voit that stepped up to the plate with a couple of two-run home runs in a 7-5, 10-inning win at Camden Yards.
Facing a two-run deficit twice tonight, New York responded both times by tying the ballgame up and giving themselves a chance to win.
First, it was a Voit homer off of Alex Cobb in the fourth, but after David Robertson was taken deep for a two-run bomb by Jonathan Villar, the Yankees loaded the bases in the top of the eighth.

This time, it was a bloop single from Gleyber Torres that drove in the tying runs to knot the game at four.
Then, in extras, Neil Walker drove in the go-ahead run with a long home run off of Cody Carrol, who was traded to Baltimore in the Zach Britton trade.

Voit then added his second long ball of the night two batters later to give the team some insurance.
In the bottom of the tenth, Britton got his first Yankee save, albeit giving up a solo homer to Chris Davis.
CC Sabathia also returned from the DL and gave Aaron Boone six strong innings, giving up just two runs on five hits. He also struckout eight Orioles.
Dellin Betances and Chad Green pitched the eighth and ninth, respectively, with both keeping the O's off the scoreboard.
J.A. Happ and Sonny Gray take the mound for the Yankees in tomorrow's day-night doubleheader.
