Winter Meetings: Yankees, Cubs talking Starlin Castro trade
The Yankees have been quiet so far during the Winter Meetings, but they might begin to make some noise. According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, the Yankees and Cubs are discussing a trade that would send middle infielder Starlin Castro to the Bronx. Castro was linked to the Yankees last month, but trade talks didn't progress.

It's interesting to note that the Cubs are also in on Ben Zobrist, but in order to sign him, they need "some other moves to come together," according to Rosenthal. This might be one of those moves. Castro, 25, is a three time all-star who can play both shortstop and second base. He's coming off a down year in which he hit .265/.296/.375 with 11 homers and 69 RBI. For his career, Castro is a .281 hitter. The Yankees struggled against left-handers last year, so Castro would provide some much needed right-handed balance. He has a career .759 OPS vs. lefties.
