Yankees avoid arbitration with Eovaldi
The Yankees and Nathan Eovaldi have avoided arbitration, according to the Yankees PR department. Eovaldi gets a one year deal worth $5.6 million. The deal is the most for an arbitration eligible player on the team so far this offseason. This is his second year of eligibility.

Eovaldi, who turns 26 in February, comes off of a season where he owned a 14-3 record with a 4.20 ERA, including a win percentage of 82 in 27 starts. However his 2015 campaign was cut short due to sustaining elbow inflammation in his pitching arm. The intimidating starting pitcher earned $3.3 million last season. The team offered $4.9 million while Eovaldi had filed for $6.3 million, so the two sides met in the middle and struck an agreement.
