Yankees call-up Gary Sanchez

After another solid win against the defending champion Kansas City Royals, there is more FANTASTIC news coming from Railriders beat writer Shane Bennigan. Catcher Gary Sanchez, one of the Yankees' top prospects, has been called up to the Bronx. The Yankees have not confirmed the move yet. The push for bringing up the talented youth in their system has been a top desire for most Yankees fans, and Sanchez will bring extra eyes to the television screen if and when he bats against the White Sox this weekend. Backup catcher Austin Romine has been playing well, however, so don't expect Sanchez to stay in the big leagues for an extended period of time. Romine also has no remaining minor league options. Chicago will throw two lefties, Chris Sale and Jose Quintana, so another right handed bat is needed. YES Network's Jack Curry believed Rob Refsnyder would get the call-up, due to his current 16 game hitting streak in Scranton, but it appears the Yankees ultimately went with Sanchez. It doesn't matter which prospect got the call-up, whether it be Refsnyder, Sanchez, or Aaron Judge. All three have been playing well and have bright futures. It will be nice to see what they can do in the big leagues.
