Yankees game 159 preview (10/1/15)
Never thought I'd be ever be saying this but, CC Sabathia (5-10, 4.82 ERA) tries to avoid the sweep against Rich Hill (2-0, 1.17 ERA) and the Red Sox. Sabathia took his tenth loss of the year his last time out against the White Sox. He gave up four runs on six hits through 6 2/3 innings. He is 11-12 in 31 career starts against Boston.
Hill is coming off a complete game shutout against the Orioles allowing just two hits. He has struck out 10 batters in each of his three starts after not starting in the Majors for six years.
Tidbits:
Hill is the first Red Sox pitcher ever with at least 10 strikeouts in his first three starts.
The Yanks can clinch a playoff berth with a win tonight.
Sabathia has over 200 innings pitched against Boston.
