Yankees game 27 preview (5/6/16)
A 10 game home stand kicks off with Michael Pineda (1-3, 6.33 ERA) and Rick Porcello (5-0, 2.76 ERA) facing off again. Pineda faces the Sox for the second time in a week. He allowed two runs on five hits through five innings but threw 106 pitches last weekend. He hasn't gotten a win in the last four starts.
"I think it's good to be home. We've been on the road a long time," said Joe Girardi.
Porcello continues to be good? Off to the best start of his career by far, he went seven scoreless innings with five hits his last start against the Yanks. He hasn't allowed a run in his last 13.1 innings.
"I think there's a clear understanding of the game plan he goes out to execute," John Farrell said. "The biggest thing I've seen is his ability to make an adjustment in one pitch. That's the difference between a quality outing and an outing you go deep into a game."
Tidbits: David Ortiz is .237 lifetime at the new Yankee Stadium with 12 doubles and 12 homers. Chase Headley still doesn't have an extra base hit and has a .153 SLG. The Sox swept the series in Boston last weekend. 7:05 pm on Yes.
