Yankees game 36 preview (5/15/16)
Masahiro Tanaka (1-0, 3.11 ERA) and Miguel Gonzalez (0-0, 4.91 ERA) try to win the series for their team in the finale. Tanaka tied a few career highs in his last outing against the Royals, unfortunately it was for earned runs (six) and homers (three.) Despite this, he went seven innings with 79 pitches and the Yanks won the game. The former Oriole Gonzalez makes his third start of the year in place of recently released John Danks. In his last start against Texas, he went 5.2 innings and allowed one run on three hits. He is 3-4 with a 4.03 ERA over 12 career outings against the Yanks, all of them coming from his time in Baltimore. Tidbits: Jacoby Ellsbury returned in yesterday's game as a defensive replacement. Look for him in today's lineup. The Sox are 20-3 in games started by Chris Sale, Jose Quintana or Mat Latos. They are 4-10 otherwise. Tanaka beat the Sox in his only career start against them, which came last May. 1:05 pm on PIX11.
