Yankees game 60 preview (6/9/16)
With a sweep and .500 in his sights, Ivan Nova (4-3, 4.41 ERA) takes on Jhoulys Chacin (2-3, 4.50 ERA) for the Angels series finale. Nova earned the win his last time out, but did it the hard way. He allowed five earned runs on seven hits across six against the Orioles. Luckily his bats bailed him out, pushing across seven runs making sure he left with the lead. Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman took care of the rest. Back in June 2015, he allowed two runs in a 5.1 inning loss against the Halos. Chacin gave up three runs on six hits through five innings against the Pirates his last time out, taking a no decision. The start before that one, however, he threw a one run complete game and struck out 10 Tigers. This is his first career start against the Bombers. Tidbits: The Yankees have hit nine home runs in this series. Nova has allowed at least four runs in his last three starts. His ERA is 6.27 in that span. Carlos Beltran has three homers in three days. 7:05 pm on YES.
