Yankees to renovate George M. Steinbrenner field

George M. Steinbrenner Field, located in Tampa, Fla., will remain home of Yankees spring training through 2046. The club announced a $40 million deal to make renovations to the complex. The deal was struck between Tampa Sports Authority and the New York Yankees. Some of the renovations include: more shade, "social gathering" areas, and new concourses in the outfield. The venue, originally Legends Field, opened in 1996 and needed a tune up. The renovations should be finished by spring 2017, as long as the deal gets approved by the TSA board of directors,  the Hillsborough County commission, the Tampa City Council, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and the Hillsborough Community College board of directors. Steinbrenner field's neighbor, Raymond James Stadium, received an even larger upgrade deal last year, initiated by the TSA as well.
