Yankees seeing progress from Gary Sanchez in rehab of right arm
Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez has been throwing from 120 feet and hitting in the cages, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
The 24-year-old has been out with a Grade 1 strain of a muslce behind his right biceps since April 10, and isn't expected to return to the lineup until early to mid May. In five games this season, Sanchez has hit .150/.190/.300 in 20 at-bats, with a home run and two RBI.
In Sanchez's absence, backup catcher Austin Romine has hit .324 with five RBI in 37 at-bats, while rookie Kyle Higashioka has been hitless in four games.
