Yankees Spring Training Game 16: Phelps continues strong Spring

New York Yankees 3 -- Toronto Blue Jays 0
The Yankees hold the Toronto Blue Jays off the scoreboard in today's 5-0 win.
Kevin Youkilis got his first hit in a Yankees uniform today (1 for 13) with a ringing double. The big hit of the game came from the returning Yankee, fighting for a spot on the roster, Juan Rivera. The 34-year old veteran competes for a potential outfield spot or splitting time at designated hitter. After two walks and an error, Rivera hit a bases-clearing double to bring in the only three runs of the game.
David Phelps continues to make a good impression this Spring and would likely project for a spot on the starting rotation. Phelps pitched five scoreless innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three hits. In 14 innings, Phelps has allowed just one run to a 0.64 ERA.
Win - David Phelps
Loss - Brett Cecil
