Yankees Trying to Trade Kelly Johnson?

According to a report in the Dallas Morning Star, the Yankees could be looking to trade utility infielder Kelly Johnson. There's not a lot of info on it, but apparently several MLB officials say that the Yankees might be trying to shop Johnson by the trade deadline. His name popped up on the list of "possible available" first baseman. The Phillies John Mayberry Jr., Nationals Tyler Moore and Pirates Gabby Sanchez are also on this small list.
Johnson signed a one-year 3 million dollar deal this winter and was penciled in as the the opening day third baseman, but with Yangervis Solarte essentially now the everyday third baseman, Johnson has seen his playing time drop significantly. He has now become the Yankees' only real backup to Mark Teixeira, but has really had a hard time playing the position. His bat hasn't been much of a factor either. His season slash is .216/.279/.392 with four home runs and 14 runs batted in. Johnson has started 20 games at first and 14 games at third, but his natural position has always been second base. I don't know how much of a market there is for Johnson at this point, and the Yankees probably won't get much in return for him except maybe an open roster spot. We'll see how this plays out and keep an eye on the rumor mill.
