Last night Hiroki Kuroda pitched well but as has been the case in many of his losses this year, he had no run support to back up his performance and the Yankees lost 3-1.
The offensive struggles continued as the team missed out on chance after chance to drive runners in and left runners stranded like ducks on the pond all night. The Yankee loss and an Orioles win tightened up the division even more. Baltimore sits only four games back and Tampa behind 3.5.
Freddy Garcia takes the mound this afternoon and has been improved in his last three starts, going 2-0 with a 4.76 ERA. If the bats wake up today he may be enough to get the club a much needed win to prevent them from sliding any further.
