Yankees Game 159 Lineup: 9/30/12

Phil Hughes and the Yankees have a little to worry about over these last four games of 2012

All tied up again. Once again that’s where things stand for the Yankees and Orioles in the AL East after the Yankees dropped the ball yesterday afternoon, failing to pull out a win and keep pace and the lead over their close competition. Andy Pettitte pitched well, but not well enough being the bomber offense couldn’t provide him with much run support.

Besides a select few explosive offensive outbursts this month, producing runs is the area the team has struggled most in, which isn’t a good sign going into the postseason.

Phil Hughes gets the start today and hopes to have backup from the batting order, especially being that he isn’t the most consistent and reliable on the mound. The team as a whole really needs to step it up in this final stretch of the year, because with all of the other teams creeping up behind them, another loss could potentially leave them on the outside looking in.
