Original post - Tuesday 7:51 PM The silver lining to the Yankees' woes this summer has been the resurgence from veteran right-fielder Carlos Beltran, a valuable offensive piece that has kept New York optimistic about its postseason aspirations. But on Tuesday night, Yankee Stadium was forced to hold its breath for the 39-year-old's health. After lacing a single off of the left field wall in the bottom half of the first inning, Beltran pulled up deliberately at first base, and was immediately removed from the game with an apparent leg injury after being evaluated by trainer Steve Donohue. Rob Refsnyder was sent in to replace Beltran.

Prior to the at-bat, Beltran entered Tuesday with a .294 average in 72 games this season. Updates on Beltran's status will come once more information is released.
