Report: Yankees call up Mason Williams

According to WFAN, the Yankees have reportedly called up Mason Williams from Triple-A. The 25 year old outfielder will meet the big league club in Oakland prior to Friday’s game.

It seems as though Aaron Hicks is still experiencing discomfort in his achilles that he injured Thursday night against the Athletics. It is not clear whether or not Hicks will hit the disabled list, but he could miss some time.

Williams has played in a total of 20 MLB games for the Yankees from 2015-2016. Looking at the small sample size, Williams has hit .292 with one home run and five RBIs in his big league career.

The young outfielder has spent all of 2017 in Triple-A, where he has hit .243 with 18 RBIs. Williams also ranks second on his team in stolen bases with 12.
