Decisions to make as non-tender deadline approaches

Teams have until midnight tonight to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players under team control, or release them into free agency.

Pitchers Nathan Eovaldi, Michael Pineda, Adam Warren, Justin Wilson and Ivan Nova are all expected to be tendered contracts. Pineda ($2.1M in 2015) and Eovaldi ($3.3M in 2015) should get the most significant raises for 2016. Position players Dustin Ackley and Didi Gregorius will also be tendered.

The Yankees have a little over a quarter of their roster signed for next season and the 40-man is full. Last year, the Yankees non-tendered young prospects Slade Heathcott and Vicente Campos to open up spots on the 40-man roster. Those two players were later re-signed.

Some candidates for non-tenders to open up roster spots include Caleb Cotham, Domingo German, Austin Romine and Mason Williams.
