The Yankees came back against the Orioles for the second consecutive game and in the process passed them, along with the Indians, in the standings. Rangers: 7-5 loss vs Pirates. Matt Garza sloppy for Rangers as they continue to slide in the standings.

Rays: 7-3 loss vs Red Sox. Mike Carp hits grand slam in the 10th to down Rays.

Orioles: 5-4 loss vs Yankees. O’s again lose a close one to Yanks.

Indians: 6-2 loss vs Royals. Indians held to only 4 hits in loss.

Yankees: 5-4 win vs Orioles. 3 solo home runs power Yankees to victory.

Royals: 6-2 win vs Indians. “Big game” James Shields lives up to his nickname.
