Come into my library, sit down, grab a glass of whiskey, and relax… it’s time for another history edition of The Bronx Pinstripes Show.
Last week, because of the league shutdown due to COVID-19, I did a brief history of MLB shortened seasons. I really enjoyed researching and recording it, so I decided to give it another go, but this time I wanted to do a Yankees-specific topic.
I settled on how Steinbrenner bought he Yankees because I remembered he invested some crazy-low number in the team and wound up owning the majority of the $4-billion dollar franchise. How did that happen? What are the facts behind the sale? How did Steinbrenner go from Cleveland businessman to one of the most powerful owners in sports?
