Yankees trade Chance Adams to Royals

According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, the Yankees have traded pitcher Chance Adams to the Kansas City Royals. In return, the Yankees will receive minor league infielder Cristian Perez.

After designating him for assignment last Wednesday, the Yankees had seven days to trade Adams or place him on irrevocable outright waivers.

Once one of the Yankees top pitching prospects, Adams finishes his Yankee career with a record of 1-2 and an ERA of 8.18 in 16 games. With starter depth like Jordan Montgomery, Luis Cessa, and Michael King behind the Yankees current five starting pitchers, Adams’ spot on the 40-man roster became expendable.

Cristian Perez is a 21-year old infielder from Venezuela. In four minor league seasons he’s slashed .263/.312/.319. Perez has been assigned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
