Robinson Cano & Alex Rodriguez provided the run support via the long ball. Cano scored the first run on a solo home run that Angels rightfielder put an all-out effort as he actually went over the short wall. Alex Rodriguez broke the tie with a no doubt, two-run home run.
CC Sabathia escaped a few jams and allowed 2 runs over 8.2 innings. He allowed 1 of his 2 runs in the 9th and turned the ball over to Mariano Rivera to close out the game.
Derek Jeter went 1 for 3 and got hit #2,985 so he is 15 away from 3,000 now.
