He has not played in the Bronx since he was called up for a weekend series against the Royals following an injury to Brett Gardner, his last game being on May 11. ย With the Yankees he hit .125 in just nine plate appearances, with one hit and one walk.
He is playing well this season for the RailRiders. ย In 432 plate appearances he is hitting .300 with 29 extra-base hits, 39 RBI, 62 runs scored and 17 stolen bases.
Gamel is on the active roster for tonight’s game against the Mets.
