Derek Jeter just stole the show from the Royals and Mets! Well, FOX literally stole the show with their technical difficulties but Jeter stole the show from them. While the baseball world was focused on the World Series, a report surfaced that Jeter is set to marry Hannah Davis. They have been linked since 2012 and Hannah was around the entire 2014 season, especially at the end of Jeter’s farewell tour. Jeter has said in the past he looks forward to getting married and raising kids (to be Yankees fans, of course). Now it seems he’ll be doing that with Hannah Davis… not too shabby.
Athletes can really learn from the example Derek Jeter set. For 20 years he was the biggest star in the biggest city in the world on the most famous team in sports. The media in New York is intense, but Jeter was able to avoid controversy off the field. How? Because he waited to get married. Guys like Tiger Woods get themselves in trouble because they want to have their cake and eat it too. Jeter dated almost every A-list celebrity over the past two decades, but nobody thinks of him as a bad guy because he was single the whole time. When you’re the shortstop for the New York Yankees women are going to fawn over you, and Derek knew that. So what did he do? He enjoyed himself as a single, good looking, rich 20 and 30 year old without offending anybody. With the hyper sensitive and social media driven world we live in today, that might be more impressive than his on-field accomplishments.
