Yankees Mariano Rivera will return for 2013 season

After missing almost all of the 2012 season with a freak ACL injury, Mariano Rivera has told Brian Cashman that he wants to return for the 2012 season.  Brian Cashman told the New York Post, “Rivera contacted us and wants to play.”

The Yankees will now discuss the terms of a  contract with Rivera over the next few weeks.  Mariano made $15 million in 2012.

With Rafael Soriano looking for a rumored 4 year deal, it was imperative that Rivera return in pinstripes to bolster the back end of the bullpen.
