The long ball got to A.J. Burnett tonight as 3 of the 4 Orioles’ runs scored on the two-run home run of Mark Reynolds and solo home run of Derrek Lee.
If it was not for the home runs, A.J. Burnett had a great outing. He went 8 innings with 10 strikeouts. Unfortunately for the Yankees, Jeremy Guthrie did not appear like the Jeremy Guthrie everyone else faced as he went 7 innings of one-run baseball.
The Yankees attempted at a rally in the 9th as back-to-back doubles cut the deficit in half but that was all they could muster.
