Game 91: CC Stops Skid

With an 0-2 start to the 2nd half of the season following the All-Star Break, the Yankees turned to their ace, CC Sabathia.

The 13-game winner earned win number 14 with 8 solid innings of 1-run baseball. Sabathia held down an offense that managed 23 runs in the previous 2 games without the benefit of a home run or an impact by their franchise player, Jose Bautista.

The Yankees did not hit well with runners in scoring position (2 for 14) but excellent pitching made up for this as 4 runs was enough for the combination of Sabathia and Rivera to win their first game of the series and first since the All-Star Break
