Preview: Yankees @ Mariners (6/07/13)

The Yankees hope to keep the momentum going on this road trip with Hiroki Kuroda (6-4, 2.59 ERA) facing off against Jeremy Bonderman (0-1, 13.50 ERA). In his last start against Boston, Kuroda fell into a 3-0 hole before the game was called in the sixth due to rain (and freighting lightning) and the Yankees failed to provide any run support. He is winless in his last three starts.

Bonderman, the former Tigers starter, gave up seven runs on nine hits (including three home runs, a triple and three doubles) in 4 2/3 innings against Minnesota on Sunday. It was his first Major League start since 2010.

Robinson Cano put the brakes on a 2-for-20 skid in Thursday’s 6-1 win. He hit his 15th home run of the season in the third inning.

Notes on the game:

For nine straight games from May 25 to June 2, the Yankees didn’t score more than six runs. In the four games since, they have scored at least six runs three times, including Thursday night’s win.

Lyle Overbay is just 1-for-16 (.063) in his career against Bonderman.

Game kicks off at 10:10 PM (ET) on YES
