Preview – Yankees vs Rays (4/27/15)

The Rays come to town to start 17 straight games in which the Yanks face the AL East. Adam Warren (1-1, 5.40 ERA) faces off against Nathan Karns (1-1, 5.32 ERA) to kick things off. This will be Warren’s second time in three starts facing Tampa Bay. The last time he took a no decision throwing four innings giving up four runs on six hits. He got his first win of the season his last time out in a 13-4 shelling of Detroit, allowing four runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in 11 career games against the Rays.

James Loney is off the DL for the Rays and swinging a hot bat, hitting .333 through four games with a homer and two doubles. He has a .571 career average against Warren, including a home run and five RBIs.

Karns threw a season high 108 pitches over six innings his last time out against the Red Sox. He allowed a pair of homers, five runs on seven hits and issued four walks. It was his third consecutive start of 100+ pitches.
