Yankees game 113 preview (8/13/15)

It’s up to Nathan Eovaldi (11-2, 4.15 ERA) to avoid yet another sweep against Trevor Bauer (9-8, 4.06 ERA) and the Indians. Eovaldi took a no decision his last time out against Toronto, giving up just one run on five hits through 6 2/3. He took a loss in his only career start against Cleveland, giving up just one run through seven .

Bauer gave up a season high three home runs his last time out against the Twins. Despite giving up four runs on seven hits through 6 1/3 innings, he got the win thanks to his offense exploding for 17 runs. Must be nice to score runs.

Tidbits:

The Yanks have lost five in a row.

Eovaldi has given up three earned runs or less in nine straight games with a 2.87 ERA in that span.

Brian McCann is one homer away from joining Mike Piazza, Johnny Bench, Yogi Berra and Gary Carter as the fifth catcher in history to hit 20 homers in nine seasons.
