The Yankees will send David Phelps to the mound today in game two of a three-game set against the Boston Red Sox. Phelps has faced the Red Sox twice this year, both times in a relief role. He allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings with five strikeouts. The 25-year-old is filling for the injured C.C. Sabathia, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a sore left elbow.
Mark Teixeira is out again for second straight game with sore left wrist.
Left-hander Jon Lester (6-10, 5.20 ERA) is on the mound for Boston.
