Yankees game 134 preview (9/5/15)

Nathan Eovaldi (14-2, 4.17 ERA) goes for his 15th (ya 15th) win against Matt Moore (1-3, 8.78 ERA) and the Rays. It doesn’t seem to matter how many runs Eovaldi gives up because he is the only pitcher who gets run support. He gave up five on eight hits to the Braves his last time out going five. Thanks to a 20 run explosion by the offense, he came away with his 14th win bringing his streak to 13 starts without a loss.

Moore rejoined the Rays from Tommy John back on July 2 and went 1-3 with a 8.78 ERA in six starts. He was sent down to AAA and will be recalled for this start. His last Major League start was on August 1, when he gave up six runs on nine hits through three innings against the Sox. He last faced the Yanks on September 24, 2013 throwing five shutout innings with three hits and six walks in the win.

Tidbits:

Eovaldi is 9-0 with a 3.32 ERA since June 20.

The Yankees are 69-0 when they lead after eight innings, the best in the AL and second in the League behind the Cardinals who are 75-0.

The Rays have lost182 games to the Yanks, the most my any team in history.
