Yankees game 157 preview (9/29/15)

Michael Pineda (12-8, 3.99 ERA) gets a chance to get the Yanks 10,000 win against Rick Porcello (8-14, 5.04 ERA) and the Sox. Pineda is coming off back to back wins against the White Sox and Mets. He held Chicago to one run on eight hits through six innings and blanked the Mets through 5 1/3. He is 4-2 with a 3.77 ERA in six career starts against Boston.

Porcello took a loss his last time out, allowing two runs on 11 hits over seven innings against the Rays. He is 4-4 in 10 career outings against the Yanks. He and Pineda faced off back on September 1 with Pineda walking away the victor. Porcello gave up three runs on five hits through eight innings.

 

Tidbits:

The Yanks can clinch a postseason berth with a win and an Angels and Twins loss.

Dustin Pedroia has reached base in his last 37 AL East games, he longest on-base division streak by a Sox player since Wade Boggs in 1985.

The Yanks 86 wins so far is their most since 2012.
