Yankees game 59 preview (6/10/15)

Nathan Eovaldi (5-1, 4.16 ERA) gets the ball for some daytime baseball against Gio Gonzalez (4-3, 4.57 ERA) and the Nats. Eovaldi held the Angels to one run on four runs through 5 1/3 innings to get his fifth win of the year his last time out. He faced Washington back in May, giving up five runs on seven hits (two homers) in 4 1/3 innings. He is 2-4 with a 5.32 ERA in eight career starts against them. Of hisย 11 starts this season, just three have been quality ones as he has given upย a career high 11.5 hits per nine innings.

Gonzalez allowed just two runs on four hits in six innings against the Cubs, but he still took the 2-1 loss. He has started twice at Yankee Stadium, posting a 5.56 ERA in 11 1/3 innings.

 

Tidbits:

Bryce Harper was tied for first place in the league in homers for about 10 minutes last night. Giancarlo Stanton hit is 21st of the year shortly after Harper hit his 20th.

Harper is hitting .429 with a homer in 14 career at bats off Eovaldi.

Nats third baseman Anthony Rendon has 17 career at bats off Eovaldi with a .412 average.
