Yankees game 64 preview (6/16/15)

Game two in Miami will feature some familiar faces as Nathan Eovaldi (5-1, 4.13 ERA) faces his former team as does David Phelps (3-3, 4.11). Eovaldi held the Nationals to three runs on eight hits through seven. The game went extras and the pen blew it in the 11th leaving Eovaldi with the no decision. He was 6-14 with a 4.37 ERA last year with the Marlins.

Phelps is coming off the best start of his career. He shutout the Rockies through a career high eight innings with four hits. He started the year in the pen and is 3-3 with a 3.62 ERA in his 11 starts since. He was 5-5 with a 4.38 ERA last year with the Yanks.

Tidbits:

Garrett Jones returns to Miami after spending last season with them when he hit .246 with 15 homers.

Martin Prado, also a former Yankee, is hitting .272 this year but will miss this series with a shoulder sprain.

Prado is hitting .272 and Stephen Drew .175. I’m sure glad we traded Prado.
