Yankees game 70 preview (6/22/15)

Michael Pineda (6-3, 3.54 ERA) welcomes Kevin Correia (0-1, 1.69 ERA) and the Phillies to town for a three game set. Pineda had a no hitter going into the seventh until a Christian Yelich homer broke it up. That was the only run and hit he gave up through 6 2/3 innings for the win. He has only faced the Phillies once in his career, back in 2011. He allowed one run on two hits with three walks and five K’s in a six inning win.

This will be Correia’s second start since signing with the Phillies two weeks ago. He allowed two runs on seven hits (two homers) through five in his last start against Baltimore. Like Pineda, he has only faced the Yanks once. He allowed nine hits and one run in six innings last year with the Twins.

Tidbits:

The Yanks have won 12 of their last 18.

The Phillies have the worst record in baseball, losing 11 of their last 13 and 23 of their last 29.
