After squeaking out a win in game one, Ivan Nova (1-3, 3.42 ERA) takes on Kevin Gausman (1-1, 5.00 ERA) in game two. Nova is making his fifth start of the year off the DL. He took a loss his last time out against Boston, giving up four runs on eight hits through 6 2/3 innings. This will be his 13th career start against Baltimore. HeĀ has struggled against them in his career, holdingĀ a 5.03 ERA. In his last outing on April 8, 2014, heĀ gave upĀ seven runs over 3 2/3 innings.
Gausman was sent down to Triple-A before the All Star break after lasting just 3Ā 2/3 innings giving up eight runs, seven earned, to the Twins. He has bounced around every part of theĀ Orioles organization during his three year career. He’s been in the rotation, in the pen, Class-A, Double-A and Triple-A. He holds a 4.01 ERA through all the levels.
