The New York Yankees will not be wearing their traditional road grey uniforms with New York stitched across the chest in today’s game against the Boston Red Sox. Instead, the Yankees will be wearing throwback uniforms from 1912 – when they were known as the New York Highlanders – with the inter-locking NY to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park.
Today’s game marks 100 years to the day after the two rivals opened the doors to the Red Sox’s historic home on April 20, 1912. The Highlanders ended up losing that game 7-6.
