Aaron Judge ties single-season rookie home run record

The historical rookie season for Aaron Judge continues.

On Monday afternoon, Judge hit his 49th home run of the season. The 25-year-old is now tied with Mark McGwire for the single-season rookie home run record.

Along with tying the rookie home run record, Judge also accomplished a cool feat in the process.

After today’s contest, Judge will have six more games to attempt to break the rookie home run record. The Yankees final two series will be played at Yankee Stadium, which should benefit Judge in his quest. He has had success at home, as 30 of his 49 homers this season have come in the Bronx.

It will be very interesting to see if Judge can break the rookie home run record over the final week of the season. As the Bronx Bombers gear up for the postseason, the organization is hopeful that Judge will continue to put baseballs into the seats deep into October.
